Ready to uplevel your oral hygiene game? Good, because that's exactly what's about to happen after you tune in to this episode I did with Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Maddie Elise!

Maddie completed her schooling as a Holistic Nutritionist, and was about to enter into the working world of all things food, when she found herself with a few cavities, sitting in a dentist's' chair. She was disturbed at the lack of transparency with ingredients used in conventional dentists' offices and sought out to create her own formulas. From there, Gaia Smiles was born.

Gaia means 'Mother Earth'. I make the product from various ‘dirt’ and clays and I like to imagine Mother Earth approving of our recipes and our efforts towards being a sustainable brand.

With growing interest in the human microbiome, the mouth has been largely ignored. Maddie, a registered holistic nutritionist, founded Gaia Smiles in an effort to give the oral microbiome the attention it deserves. As a digestive organ home to billions of microscopic bacteria and yeast, the mouth has a powerful impact on overall health. Gaia Smiles aims to support that health. They craft wholesome products with simple ingredients to brighten your smile and freshen your breath while sustaining your mouth’s ideal ecosystem.

The best part? Her remineralizing tooth powder actually WORKS! I've been LOVING using the regular formula (tastes sort of like Chai?) in the mornings and the peppermint formula at night. It feels like an upgrade to my oral hygiene, that's for sure!
